Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Releases Smoothly Amidst Few Silent Protests

Buzz coming in from all the quarters is that Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is getting a better response at the ticket windows than Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay.

Though MNS Chief Raj Thackeray, gave his nod for a peaceful release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, yet theatres in Delhi, Punjab, Bangalore and Patna are heavily secured to avoid any unwarranted situation.

As far as Maharashtra is concerned, though the Chief Minister of Maharshtra Devendra Fadnavis mediated a peace deal between Karan Johar and MNS chief Raj Thackeray, yet there has been a silent protest since morning outside Sarvoday Mall in Kalyan near Mumbai as a theatre inside the mall is showcasing Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

However, the protest is not by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. This one has been organised by Sambhaji Brigade, a local Maratha organisation which also takes part in the Muk Maratha Morcha. They have been appealing to the people to not watch Ae Dil Hai Mushkil as it stars Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.

The party even raised slogans such as 'Pakistan Murdabad'. They have also threatened that since its Diwali and the festive mood will continue for the next 4 days, they shall observe silent protests but if the film is still playing in theatres post the festive time then there will be no silent protest but an aggressive one.

Similar protests have sparked in Patna, Bihar. The protesters here too have demanded that people should not support Karan Johar’s film-Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Other multiplexes and single screens in Mumbai are operating peacefully.

Let’s wait to see how Ae Dil Hai Mushkil performs. Amidst the pressure it’s receiving from all over the country, will the love story conquer over the current hatred it’s facing from some quarters?
